Kev’s Bets for the weekend brought to you by Betway on OmniAudio.Africa
Get some skin in the game
The joy and the point of safe and responsible sports gambling is not to make millions, although that is always a dream, but to enhance the experience and your understanding of the game.
Understanding value, odds, the background of players, form and potential, then chuck in a hint of luck to go with that and a small punt could be enough to pay for the weekend braai or some biltong.
For me, sports betting is my fantasy league football, to a vague extent. A test of how much I know, how I can read form and then take a mostly-educated guess on what is going to happen on the weekend. I haven’t had much luck with Kev’s Bets thus far. Every week I pick five bets in a multi, and just about every week I hit four out of five. A few weeks ago it was Biarritz rugby, last week it was the All Blacks losing to France.
My guidelines for fun, and, most importantly, safe sports betting is to understand your stats, understand your teams, bet with your head and not your heart, but, then again, as Phil Berelowitz, the social media manager at Betway told me on the show on Thursday, sometimes you have to go with your gut.
Kev’s Bets brought to you by Betway will be a twice-weekly, 30-minute show, carried on OmniAudio.Africa, MTN Play and social media platforms. We will break down odds, explain how multi, single bets, double chances, live bets and build-a-bet works. We will take you through an in-depth guide as to form, which players are back from injury, who is out, which way the wind will be blowing and when the tide comes in, where the upsets will be and where the favourites just cannot lose.
Bets will be made on Thursdays, and then reviewed on Mondays. If you would like to copy mine or my guest’s bets, used the booking code supplied. Get some skin in the game, and have fun.
A reminder, odds can change. Bet responsibly, never chase your bets and have fun.
